Although we always encourage visitors to use public transport where possible, the Hand Built Hall has parking for at least ten cars, including one “disabled space” nearest the hall, and another on the street. Through the pedestrian gate, this leads into our Golden Plaza, Memorial Garden, the ramp to our lift entrance, the bike shelter, the Circular Lawn, and the Grand Staircase up to the Entrance Hall.

With benches positioned to catch the sun throughout the day, there are many options for this entrance area to be used as overspill from an indoor event, lunchtime sandwiches, or wedding photos on the steps.

At the West End there is a quieter garden with “Ivy’s Orchard”, containing quince, pear, apple, mulberry crab-apple and fig trees. The curved path leads from the end of the ramp, around picnic tables and then up and through the orchard. It’s a great place for supervised children to play while the orchard has potential for wedding photos.
