Our Main Hall can seat 120 around tables and 240 in theatre-style for a presentation. But we’ve also had an exclusive dinner party for just 20 people and they didn’t look out of place at all. The beautiful soft-white walls make the perfect exhibition backdrop, and with the sunshine streaming through our south-facing windows the place sparkles. At any time of day or evening, there are various lighting options, from full, to fairy lights – and of course you can bring your own battery-powered candles.
Tables and chairs are included in the hire price and our helpful caretakers will enable you to place them according to your own design, and put everything away afterwards. If you want to clear a space for dancing, we can also help you with that – all tables and chairs simply roll on their trolleys, back into purpose-built cupboards. Crockery, cutlery and glassware are available for an extra charge.
We can provide staging if you want a focal point; we have a PA System with various inputs including radio mics and bluetooth. This means you can create your own playlist on your phone or a stick, and run it seamlessly. We also have WiFi, Ethernet, and two 65″ monitors for your slide-shows, presentations, or videos. Sometimes people bring their own DJ, and the DJ has their own PA rig. This is fine. Our picture rail offers a useful route for cabling. We do not have a noise limiter, but our caretakers will monitor the audible sound outside from time to time. This keeps us all in good standing with our neighbours. However, the hall is so well insulated acoustically that this has never been a problem.
Our caretakers are there to set up the technical aspects according to your needs. They will remain on site throughout the event to make sure everything is running smoothly and to assist in the case of an accident or emergency.
We operate on the basis that you leave the place as you found it. Our caretakers will provide you with what you need and help you do this. It normally takes up to an hour to clear up after a large party. Most people take their rubbish away with them, but we can dispose of it for a fee.
